Last week I Am Hip-Hop checked out the opening night of East London exhibition ‘If You Don’t Know, Now You Know’, and what an exhibition it is! Hosted at the Red Gallery, the show is ‘a collection of works from local and international street artists who create hidden, alternative and thought provoking pieces in the urban environment, which are usually installed without the consent of the building owner.’
The opening night was incredible, with some amazing art on display and also included an awe-inspiring live paint session by featured artist Josh Jeavons. The artists on display all strive to keep the urban space exciting and controversial and the aim of this show was ‘to highlight artists who’s work challenges the bulk of the monotonous, socially swallowed, commercial sh** that floods today’s art public, both within the gallery and outside’
