Running since 2005 this is the biggest Ghanaian festival in the Diaspora. With native blockbuster rapper Sarkodie pulling the creative strings this year, the stage is set for a cultural explosion. Hosted by marketing company, Akwaaba in Trent Park, London, the party will force the capital to come alive on Saturday the 24th of July.
Supported by the Ghana High Commission UK and Ireland, the festival attracts over 8000 attendees annually and is the biggest Ghanaian event outside of Ghana, enticing visitors from all areas of the globe. As well as food and Art Exhibits there is a large music presence with previous performers including Mr Eazi, Fuse ODG, Maleek Berry, Chip, Kojo Funds, WRETCH 32, Tion Wayne and Sarkodie.
This year carrying out Sarkodie’s vision, the event is accompanied by rappers Yaw Tog, Kofi Jamar, Amerado, and D‑Black; highlife crooner Kwabena Kwabena, Afropop artists S3fa, Camidoh, Gyakie, and Mr. Drew. Alongside fashion shows, cultural dancers and traditional Ghanaian food, it has grown since previous years and is “back with a bang”.
Chief Executive Officer Akwaaba UK, Dennis Tawiah gave the assurance that his outfit will ensure a properly planed event with all the needed security and health requirements in place especially in such a difficult time due to the coronavirus
