LITTLE SIMZ CURATES AN UNFORGETTABLE MELTDOWN 2025 AT THE SOUTHBANK CENTRE

The Southbank Centre has unveiled the first wave of artists set to perform at Meltdown 2025, curated by the critically acclaimed British rapper and musician, Little Simz. Scheduled to take place from June 12 to June 22, this year’s Meltdown promises an eclectic mix of musical talent that reflects Simz’s artistic vision and genre-defying approach to music.

Little Simz, who is taking the helm for the 30th edition of the renowned festival, will deliver a one-of-a-kind performance in the Royal Festival Hall on June 22, accompanied by the Southbank Centre’s Resident Orchestra, Chineke! Orchestra. The performance will feature selections from her extensive catalog, including tracks from her forthcoming sixth studio album, Lotus, set for release on May 9 via AWAL Recordings.

Kicking off the festival on June 12, legendary British music collective The Streets, led by Mike Skinner, will take the stage at the Royal Festival Hall. Other exciting acts include BRIT Award nominee Lola Young (June 17), MOBO Award-winning rapper Ghetts (June 18), and multi-GRAMMY and Academy Award winner Jon Batiste (June 21). Additional performances will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, featuring British-Colombian singer-songwriter Sasha Keable with Flames Collective (June 14) and Yukimi, the co-founder of the Swedish group Little Dragon (June 18).

In keeping with Meltdown’s tradition of championing new talent, this year’s festival will also showcase a unique young producers’ project. Over the next three months leading up to the festival, a group of emerging young producers from London will curate and transform the festival’s public spaces into a dynamic hub of activities, performances, and artistic expression.

Speaking about curating Meltdown 2025, Little Simz shared her enthusiasm: “My team and I are preparing eleven days of art, music, workshops, and more. So many incredible artists have curated this festival, so it’s a true honor to be a part of it. Thank you to the Southbank Centre for having me. Meltdown 2025 the Simz way is going to be epic. I’ll see you there.”
