Born in London, Highbury, Fattima Mahdi is a conscious rapper, spoken word artist and songwriter, whose lyrics are fuelled by powerful social commentary.
Fresh off a European tour, with a Freestyle Cypher award under her belt, she is quickly gaining recognition for her artform, catching the attention of Rhymesayers Entertainment — home to heavyweights like Freeway, Sa-Roc and MF DOOM. She currently resides in Malta but makes regular trips to London, performing at venues such as Chip Shop (Brixton), Grow (Hackney) and Shoreditch Ace Hotel.
Half Nigerian, half Somalian, Fattima Mahdi proudly pays homage to her roots in her latest single “Mama” — a heartfelt ode to Africa. A taste of what to expect from her forthcoming project “HOME”, largely produced by Gilkicker Studios and featuring a number of upcoming musicians, such as the talented London-based singer FaceSoul, Nigeria’s Rasta Bama, and guest producers Shay Who (Nigeria) and Gumz (South Africa).
