It had to be said. It had to be done. The cata­stroph­ic and poten­tially massive loss of life at Gren­fell Tower in the early hours of June 14 was much more than a simple ‘tragedy’ or ‘fire’. It was the con­sequence of bru­tal aus­ter­ity policies that have mani­fes­ted in cuts to emer­gency ser­vices, on the one hand, as well as a sys­tem that has shown zero regard for the work­ing-class and the right to homes suit­able for human beings. This gang­ster land­lord­ism killed each of the res­id­ents of Gren­fell who were unable to escape the death trap their build­ing had become. This was without a doubt a mass murder car­ried out by a vile and dis­gust­ing sys­tem that isn’t fit for soci­ety. #Justice4Grenfell
