It had to be said. It had to be done. The catastrophic and potentially massive loss of life at Grenfell Tower in the early hours of June 14 was much more than a simple ‘tragedy’ or ‘fire’. It was the consequence of brutal austerity policies that have manifested in cuts to emergency services, on the one hand, as well as a system that has shown zero regard for the working-class and the right to homes suitable for human beings. This gangster landlordism killed each of the residents of Grenfell who were unable to escape the death trap their building had become. This was without a doubt a mass murder carried out by a vile and disgusting system that isn’t fit for society. #Justice4Grenfell
Marcel Cartier expresses his views in this powerful track, strong response to the policies that have left so many killed criminally.
