Hip-Hop legend and pop culture icon, Method Man, is back with another installment of The Meth Lab. Like the first Meth Lab album, the project is a platform curated with friend and collaborator Hanz On that draws upon the Staten Island hip-hop community to put on other artists and up-and-coming rappers deserving a shot. The squad — including some of Wu-Tangs finest / affiliates and according to Mef, new cats from Staten Island we thought was dope — offers up a collection of records that are bound to get the real hip-hop heads going.
The Meth Lab II: The Lithium was recorded in Meth Lab Studios on Staten Island and will drop later this year via Hanz On Music Entertainment (H.O.M.E.) / ONErpm. Today the team have revealed the first taste of the album — setting the stage with the only solo Method Man track, Grand Prix — with the production focusing on deep, in-the-groove hip hop beats and Method Man’s distinctive delivery, showing he’s still at the peak of his powers as a rapper and one of the most influential figures the genre has created.
