LONDON’S BIGGEST ROOFTOP LAUNCHES NEW DAYTIME SERIES ‘THE BIG BRUNCH’

The Big Brunch arrives at Freight Brix­ton this August and Septem­ber, bring­ing a series of themed day­time parties to Lon­don’s largest rooftop venue.

Run­ning every Sat­urday from 8 August to 26 Septem­ber, The Big Brunch com­bines bot­tom­less drinks, live enter­tain­ment, DJs, per­formers and immers­ive themed exper­i­ences, trans­form­ing Freight Brix­ton’s expans­ive rooftop into one of Lon­don’s biggest day­time party destinations. 

Cre­ated by OMG, The Big Brunch was born from a simple idea: to do some­thing the day­time scene rarely gets right. Rather than rely­ing on playl­ists and dec­or­a­tions, each event deliv­ers a pro­fes­sion­ally pro­duced enter­tain­ment exper­i­ence fea­tur­ing live vocal­ists, trib­ute per­formers, exper­i­enced DJs, inter­act­ive hosts and fully themed pro­duc­tion designed to keep guests singing, dan­cing and cel­eb­rat­ing from start to fin­ish. Each event runs from 12pm – 4pm and includes 60 minutes of bot­tom­less drinks, along­side access to Freight Brix­ton’s food vendors and bars.

The inaug­ur­al sea­son includes:

Saturday 8 August – RNB Classics

A cel­eb­ra­tion of the greatest R&B anthems from the 90s, 00s and bey­ond. Expect smooth grooves, sin­galong favour­ites and floor-filling hits from artists includ­ing Ush­er, Bey­on­cé, Mary J. Blige and Né-Yo, delivered by DJs, per­formers and roam­ing entertainers.

Saturday 15 August – One Love Reggae

A feel-good jour­ney through reg­gae’s most icon­ic sounds, fea­tur­ing clas­sics from Bob Mar­ley, Beres Ham­mond, Den­nis Brown and more. Island-inspired vibes, DJs, live per­formers and plenty of oppor­tun­it­ies to dance make this the ulti­mate reg­gae celebration.

Saturday 22 August – Just Like ABBA

Dust off the sequins and pre­pare for an after­noon ded­ic­ated to one of pop’s greatest cata­logues. Expect wall-to-wall clas­sics includ­ing Dan­cing Queen, Mamma Mia and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! in a joy­ous cel­eb­ra­tion of the Swedish supergroup.

Saturday 29 August – Old School Hip Hop

A throw­back to the golden era of hip hop, packed with legendary beats, icon­ic anthems and party-start­ing energy. Guests can expect clas­sic cuts from the pion­eers of hip hop cul­ture along­side live hosts, per­formers and DJs bring­ing the soundtrack of the streets to Brixton.

Saturday 5 September – Ibiza House Party

Bring­ing Balear­ic sun­shine to South Lon­don, Ibiza House Party chan­nels the spir­it of the White Isle with uplift­ing house music, euphor­ic anthems, fest­iv­al-style enter­tain­ment and feel-good sum­mer energy from mid­day until sunset.

Saturday 12 September – Totally Garage

A cel­eb­ra­tion of one of the UK’s most influ­en­tial dance genres, fea­tur­ing the biggest UK Gar­age anthems, old-school clas­sics and under­ground favour­ites. Expect rewinds, bass­lines and hands-in-the-air moments from start to finish.

Saturday 19 September – One Love Reggae

The reg­gae takeover returns for a second edi­tion, deliv­er­ing anoth­er after­noon of time­less clas­sics, Carib­bean rhythms and laid-back rooftop vibes.

Saturday 26 September – RNB Classics

The sea­son closes with anoth­er huge R&B cel­eb­ra­tion, bring­ing back the biggest slow jams, club anthems and sin­galong favour­ites from across the decades.

A spokes­per­son for The Big Brunch said:

“We’re cre­at­ing exper­i­ences that people can genu­inely lose them­selves in. Every brunch has its own per­son­al­ity, soundtrack and enter­tain­ment pro­gramme, but they all share the same goal: great music, bril­liant per­formers and an atmo­sphere that gets every­one involved. We wanted to cre­ate some­thing that feels premi­um, immers­ive and prop­erly pro­duced, wheth­er you’re an ABBA super­fan, a reg­gae lov­er or a lifelong gar­age head.”

With Lon­don’s biggest rooftop as its back­drop, a care­fully cur­ated enter­tain­ment pro­gramme and a line-up span­ning everything from R&B and reg­gae to house, hip hop and disco-pop nos­tal­gia, The Big Brunch prom­ises to become one of the cap­it­al’s standout day­time events this summer.
