NEW MUSIC | DANCEHALL SINGER TOYASINGS RELEASES LATEST SINGLE ‘RAY & NEPHEW’

Listen here

Her first track in three years, UK singer ToyaSings returns with independent collaborative single ‘Ray & Nephew’. Approached by producer Legendary Lexi and working with family member Magicthis dancehall influenced track centres around ToyaSings’ instantaneous connection with the beautiful island of Jamaica. The initial idea was sparked by the rhythm and tempo of Legendary Lexi’s track which ToyaSings and Magic quickly wrote to.

Originally from London, ToyaSings is an independent musician taking influence from Tayana Taylor and Sza. She teamed up with Magic on previous single ‘Give it to Me’, which was released three years ago. Latoya Mcdonald writes to express “a vibe of good energy” which certainly comes across in latest single. Family and authenticity are paramount for ToyaSings who says “staying close to her roots” are the most important element of her artistry. Music has been a tool of survival for ToyaSings and one she uses to celebrate the woman and artist she has become.

‘Ray & Nephew’ will be released onto all major streaming platforms on the 24th January.
