London emcee Consensus, who has been featured on FT.com, BBC World Service and BBC Radio 1 Xtra performing and talking about his music and conscious lyrics through Hip Hop, is fresh from his US Tour at the end of 2018 and is back with ‘Controversé‘ and ‘SubContext‘, 2 new EPs with their own distinct sounds.
‘Controversé‘ is a 5 track collaboration EP with Swiss producer Bikuta. Each track boast a strong boom-bap style with controversial subject matter. The emphasis here is on complex flow and lyrics that pack a punch.
‘SubContext‘ is a fast paced rap & grime project on new skool beats. Each track delves into raw emotional expression and explores the potential for explosive and dynamic performance. Consensus calls this ‘5 Moody tracks about the stuff I never get to talk about.’

Based in Beijing for a few years and regularly touring the globe, Apex is well travelled, and uses the lessons this provides to inform his art and outlook. He is a member of the GlobalFaction digital production house and the international Hip Hop collective End of the Weak.
