There are artists throughout history who have transcended their art and made genuine change in this world; Bobi Wine is one of these people. Since earning a huge following for his music throughout Uganda, Africa and beyond, Wine has channelled his influence to highlight the problems facing Ugandans, especially the poor and underserved. At great personal risk and despite being imprisoned and harmed physically on numerous occasions, Wine has built a movement of mobilised supporters pushing to improve their collective circumstances, from the grassroots to the national political arena.

Whilst on tour in Uganda with fellow People’s Army members Logic, DJ Snuff, myself and drummer Giuliano, vocalist and activist Amy True (whose father is Ugandan) was invited to meet and interview Bobi Wine for I Am Hip Hop Magazine and GlobalFaction.
