NEW MUSIC | JOEY CAPO TO RELEASE BRAND NEW EP ‘WHEN SHOOTING STARS LISTEN’

Joey Capo is an Itali­an-Viet­namese sing­er-song­writer and pro­du­cer. Offer­ing up a dark, atmo­spher­ic take on pop and con­tem­por­ary R&B, Joey’s new body of work is a cap­tiv­at­ing offer­ing. ‘When Shoot­ing Stars Listen’ fea­tures 7 lux­uri­ous tracks that are per­fect for late-night listen­ing. Pro­duced, writ­ten, mixed, and mastered by the tal­ent him­self, the EP sees Capo show­case his sharp and mas­ter­ful abil­ity to cre­ate catchy slow jams that really stand out. 

Speak­ing on the pro­ject, Joey revealed, “This is my third EP in three years, I star­ted with my EP ‘At Sun­down’ which was a story about going through a dark time in my life. Then the second EP was ‘New Moon’, which was me being more trans­par­ent to bring closer to that dark­er side as I move onto new begin­nings. I cre­ated the EP ‘When Shoot­ing Stars Listen’ because I finally reached a point in my career and life that was once a dream. This EP touches on things in the past, present, and the belief I have in my future. Each song cre­ated tells a story on what life once was, to where it’s all going. I cre­ated it in that way because the main thing I want to do with my music is inspire the world to believe in them­selves. Hav­ing them really mani­fest their own dreams as they truly embody what their life would be like when shoot­ing stars listen.”

Joey Capo was born and raised in Beth­le­hem, Pennsylvania. He began writ­ing music at 16 and by the age of 20, he star­ted teach­ing him­self how to pro­duce his own records. In May 2018, he relo­cated to Los Angeles, Cali­for­nia to fur­ther grow his music career. In 2020, the rising tal­ent released an EP titled ‘New Moon’ which garnered not­able atten­tion and recog­ni­tion. The lead single on the EP was not only an inter­na­tion­al sen­sa­tion, but was also nom­in­ated for R&B record of the year for the Hol­ly­wood Music In Media Awards. So far in 2021, he has gone on to release 5 singles, with his impress­ive track ‘Me Time’ scor­ing him anoth­er HMMA Award nom­in­a­tion for R&B Record of the Year. 

As Capo con­tin­ues to climb the lad­der of suc­cess, he aims to paint a vivid and mean­ing­ful pic­ture from begin­ning to end in every song he cre­ates, nev­er los­ing sight of the true pas­sion he has for music. With Joey Capo’s fast rise to fame, he is one music record­ing artist in today’s new school era you should keep an eye on as he con­tin­ues his jour­ney to the top.
