‘West Midz’ is the tri­umphant debut single from Birm­ing­ham artist Dose. Express­ing real­ity from Dose’s per­spect­ive, ‘West Midz’ dis­plays great pride in his homet­own. Rhythmic and express­ive, Dose flaunts his lyr­ic­al abil­ity and flow in ‘West Midz’. Explain­ing that rap is some­thing that comes nat­ur­ally to him, Dose tailored the lyr­ics to ‘West Midz’ to artic­u­late his exper­i­ence of grow­ing up in this coun­try and spe­cific­ally to shine a light on the West midlands.
 
Birm­ing­ham based rap­per Dose keeps to his roots in his music. Bring­ing a fresh per­spect­ive to UK rap his witty lyr­ics seek to bring some­thing new to the scene. Cit­ing Giggs and Dave as key influ­ences, Dose wants to pull atten­tion away from just the rap com­ing out of Lon­don, and to share some of resources with the Birm­ing­ham scene. Dose has been writ­ing and gig­ging around his homet­own of Erd­ing­ton for the last ten years, and is finally ready to take his sound nation­al with the release of his first single ‘West Midz’.
