A new India based record label called 4NC¥ launched on Monday 20th July by Pavan Mukhi, a founding member of Foreign Beggars.
4NC¥ is a global platform and network, for underground musicians and visual artists. Dedicated to breaking records from new talent and seasoned artists alike, 4NC¥ focuses on the cross-pollination of Indian and international artists through collaborative projects.
Weekly releases will feature curated artwork from both aspiring and well-known visual artists, helping to create an identity that goes beyond the audio. The label’s releases will encompass a wealth of genres, including lo-fi, hip-hop, trap, grime, 160, jungle/drum & bass, and selective house, techno and future soul/r&b.
4NC¥ founder, Pavan Mukhi, is a founding member of the London based hip-hop/electronic group Foreign Beggars, which disbanded in early 2020. Across almost 20 years of creating and performing all over the world, the band released a wide variety of music, and collaborated with artists such as Skrillex, Noisia, Rag’N’Bone Man. They were also affiliated with a number of labels, including Deadmau5’s Mau5trap, Ministry of Sound, Atlantic Records, Never Say Die Records and many more. Throughout the years of heavy touring & recording activities, Pavan has seen the inception of many new movements and is connected with leagues of groundbreaking talent the world over.
… “I want to create a global platform for incredible artists and connect scenes from around the world. With so much societal division and now heavy restrictions on travel, breaking these boundaries and subversion through unity is even more important now than ever before. My dream for 4NC¥ is to facilitate meaningful exchange so artists can break new ground with their careers on a global scale.”… Pavan Mukhi, A&R, Creative Director
4NC¥’s first release, the Knoxxville EP by Hyderabad producer Yung.Raj, is due for release on 28th August 2020.
