“EUROPEANS FLEEING TO AFRICA” KELVYN COLT’S TWIST ON THE IMMIGRATION NARRATIVE

Having released the audio for the fan-favorite, Colt has set the bar high for the video. Traveling to magical Morocco to shoot the video for his track ‘Mile Away’, Colt decided to change the usual narrative of diaspora around the globe.

For the self-directed video of ‘Mile Away’, just as the audio, drafts inspiration from the story of many that left their country to find a better future in the ‘Western-world’. For his video he changes around the story, with a European Caucasian family crossing the street of Gibraltar to find a new life on the African continent. With the video Colt touches upon several issues many have encountered when settling abroad for a better future, as language barriers, finding shelter and lack of other basic necessities.

Kelvyn turns the table, by shedding a different light on the story of refugees and create more understanding for the situations many had to encounter.

Even though the track is a fan-favorite, produced by Blaise Keys and Mounir Maarouf in Paris, many did not yet understand the inspiration for the track and what it stands for. With this video, directed by Colt himself, he uses his platform to create awareness within his TBHG community and beyond.
