‘Prayed Up’ (3 July) is the first single from the Drag­g’s upcom­ing Ep ‘L.I.T’. ‘Prayed Up’ deliv­ers blis­ter­ing rhymes on the social and eco­nom­ic situ­ation that ordin­ary people find them­selves nego­ti­at­ing, inad­vert­ently pin­point­ing cur­rent cul­ture and world­wide events. Dragg and GTBeats wrote and pro­duced the lion’s share of L.I.T together.

Dragg has a suc­cess­ful ghost-writ­ing career and is now focus­ing on his own music. Lawrence Sean Sibanda lost his eye­sight at 12 after con­tract­ing men­ingit­is and has gone on to write for, or share a stage with the likes of The Game, Wretch 32, Tim West­wood, JLS, Lady Leshurr, Paigey Cakey, Abel Miller, and col­lab­or­ate with plat­in­um writer/producer OD Hunte (synchs for Gil­lette World Sport, Coron­a­tion Street).

Dragg’s music is influ­enced by West Coast Hip Hop in pro­duc­tion and atti­tude, and lyr­ic­ally by the dope hooks and sing along-style songs of South Afric­an Kwaito. Son­ic­ally remin­is­cent of The Game, Zola, Sto­gie T, Jay‑Z, Pro Kid, J. Cole and Jadakiss.
