A pioneer of ‘Grock’, Kwazi Cort is releasing his new single ‘Please Don’t Boast ft LD (67)’, a collaboration with fellow London Drill artist LD (67). Kwazi Cort set out to make a track that introduced Grock into the urban sphere. With its memorable and distinctive energy and aesthetic, ‘Please Don’t Boast ft LD (67)’ certainly achieves this. Written and recorded in London, ‘Please Don’t Boast ft LD (67)’ merges rock with grime and takes influence from hip hop and drill.
Kwazi Cort’s vivid account of his tumultuous life is immersed in his autobiographical music. The loss of a childhood friend when he was young set Kwazi Cort on a more positive path, wanting his music to be a viable way to express his story. Kwazi Cort is a pioneer of the Grock genre which fuses modern grime flows, rock guitar, funkadelic troubled rambles and the fierce focus of drill’s new school. Heavily influenced by the Pan-African movement, Kwazi Cort draws on a wealth of influences to create his progressive sound that is drawing more and more people to listen to him.
‘Please Don’t Boast ft LD (67)’ will be available on all major platforms from the 7th May
