Isaac B is an alternative Hip-Hop artist based in south London. The ex-Broward County resident, a self-taught, ‘King of The Cypher’, swapped the sun-soaked backdrop of The ‘Dale’, for the rain and rizzle of the UK capital. He quickly immersed himself in the local MC live- scene, earning himself a respected reputation, with a committed, ever growing following, alongside his collective, AndWhat?LDN. Hosting some of the most musically diverse, eclectic late nights, and the most riotous, lyrically charged monthly cyphers, Isaac B, acts as a key player within the growth of the London’s underground, live Hop-Hop scene. Positioned at the forefront of bringing artists such as DJ Maseo of De La Soul, and South African marvel Toya Delazy to local intimate venues, as well as opening up for High Focus’ Ramson Badbonez. He has seen his collective progress to the point of selling out small venues, to even hosting an annual all-day community festival in the heart of Brixton known as ‘Congregate’. These being only a handful of his notable achievements, Isaac B is now here to share with us more of his poetic lyricism, and cinematic visuals in the form of SNE HNE.
From its hypnotic production, to lyrical rhapsody, we are journeyed through the themes of ill-judgement, deceit, snitching and murder. With subtle nods to the death of one of his hometown influences, XXXtentacion, a reflection upon the very streets that saw Isaac’s talent develop, SNE HNE is loaded with sombre imagery, reflected in the spine-chilling video. Laced with lowkey haunting samples, echoing news reports, and police tapes, listeners are transcended to the centre of a crime scene. With a shadowy all-consuming ambience, it reveals the senseless loss of talent, potential and life.
