REVIEW | PHARCYDE — THE LEGENDARY TITANS OF RAP LIVE IN LONDON

A night where a legendary Titan of raps golden age from the east and west coasts collided in west London at the historic O2 Shepherds Bush Empire venue was packed wall to wall to wall with Hip Hop Heads young and old this was a perfect advertisement for how timeless Hip Hop music transcends generations.

Furthermore when Slimkid3, Imani and Fatlip took the stage along with DJ Trebbis. The explosion of energy was everything thing we needed from the seasoned veterans. It’s almost like the last 30years never happened.

It was so fascinating to see how a very small percentage of Hip Hop artists and groups from the early 90’s are as popular as ever and actually touring more regularly than their modern day contemporaries.

Seeing the Pharcyde on stage feels like a big deal, these are the legendary titans of Hip Hop and for 60minutes they let you know why.

Throughout the show we heard all the classic cuts such as “Passin me by” “Drop” Otha Fish” “Ya Mama” before rounding off a stunning J Dilla tribute and send ing the fans home happy with a timeless rendition of “Runnin’”

This was another superb addition to the Pharcyde’s catalogue of brilliant highly energetic London shows!!
