Love and Power

Two things that dominate our lives but aren’t that different from each other,
The love you get from power can be just as deadly as the power you get from love,
They’re intertwined like destinies from up above,

Because when you feel that warm embrace of love from those around you,
You feel as if you can’t be stopped in what you want to achieve,
And when you get the power to complete something you’ve always wanted to,
You receive more love from those around you and it helps you to believe
… that you’re invincible

But both can be taken away just as easily,
When you feel the love for yourself slipping, you try to hold onto it knowing it wont last,
Like a crumpled piece of paper it can be flattened but never be perfect,
And when you feel like you’re losing power over a situation,
Sometimes you just gotta let it go, look back and reflect,

Look to yourself .. Love yourself and find your power from within,
Because there is no such thing as a life that’s better than yours,
So when the love and power from others looks thin,
Remember that you have your own two feet on the floor,

And when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will finally know peace
