NEW MUSIC | DUTY PAID (@dutypaid3) ‘HONEYDEW’

Rapper and singer duo Duty Paid today announce the release of their new single. Duty Paid is made up of singer Temi Jonah and rapper DC. Honeydew is a warm and infectious afrobeats inspired song destined to be a pre-summer club anthem.

Both DC and Temi were raised in London and their musical background reflects the diversity of the city. Influenced by American hip-hop, R&B, UK rap, afrobeats, both Temi and DC started their musical careers as teenagers, often getting booked to perform on pirate radio stations and local gigs.

In 2017, Temi and DC joined forces to form Duty Paid, and have been steadily raising their profile with their effortless genre blending style. Over the past two years Duty Paid has performed in front of 5,000 people at an event in Greece and were special guests at the Rewind festival in 2017. Remarkably, last summer Duty Paid released their first single Tranquilito with almost no promotion and still racked up 40,000 views in a week — proving their laid back and fun approach to music is easily embraced by the streets.

With a current sound Honeydew successfully brings together a fun tropical melody that is instantaneously catchy and blends it with a charismatic upbeat production. Already attracting a local and international buzz, Duty Paid are set to make their mark in 2019 with a debut album on the horizon.
