For the first single and video off his upcoming “Denied // Approved” EP, Anik Khan takes equal parts from UK and NYC drill to make it his own.
Teaming up with UK-based singer/songwriter Nish and frequent collaborator Haile Supreme, Khan recruits DJ LYAN on production for the high energy, synth heavy “Man Down”. “I ain’t trying to go to county, I got way too much to lose it, it ain’t about me,” raps Khan, alluding to his position as one of the few South Asian faces in the music industry in the U.S.
“Denied” is the first part of a two part EP, which explores Khan’s life as an artist and immigrant in the U.S without legal citizenship. This is his first full-length release since his 2017 EP “Kites” and features Bas, Xavier Omar, Cozz, Nish and Robin Dey with production from Sango, ClickNPress, DJ Komari and more.
“Denied” is available across all streaming platforms on 23rd July 2021.
