The Bull and Gate in Kentish town played host to Guerrilla Republik Scandinavia. With a mixture of Scandinavian, English and American based mcs this was truly a global night of hip hop.
Opening the show was the host, American based rapper and founder of Guerrilla Republik Scandinavia, Capital X. His energy and passion on the mic set the tone for an evening of explosive performances from all the acts that followed. Next to the stage came an onslaught of London based skill and lyricism, from Crazy Haze and Mo Alpacino to Xidus Pain, who entertained the crowd with a skilful freestyle. Kapwon performed a thought provoking set, Reveal then spat out thunder bars and Awate’s powerful words filled the ears of the audience. All of these acts took the night to the next level with their performance and word play.
Also performing on the night was Lethal Injection, a group made up of rappers Sheepy and Yenemesi from Norway. They dropped bombs with their rapid fire and base bumping set. Their speed and flow was on super charge. The final act of the night was American based rap group NBS (Natural Born Spitters) who kept the hip hop flowing till the very end. Of course none of these acts would have been possible without the amazing talent on the mixer from the one and only DJ Steaz.
As the night came to a close the talk turned to Saturday’s free London Street Cypher event at Leake Street graffiti tunnel. This was the first but by no means last London street cypher set up by Kapwon and Guerrilla Republik Scandinavia. From the skills of the graffiti artists to the lyrical talent of all the rappers this was truly an expression of all things hip hop.
If you could not make these great events make sure you get to the next Guerrilla Republik Scandinavia show in London. To all of you that love all things hip hop you will not be disappointed!!!
