BackRoad Gee wants you to ‘Fear Nuttin’. The London MC is next up in Apple Music’s The Agenda Live — a video series shining a light on Black British music’s most prodigious talents. In this exclusive video he delivers a blistering performance of ‘Fear Nuttin’, alongside hypnotic visuals from fast-rising British-Nigerian director Femi Ladi. “Boys will be boys and men will be men,” BackRoad Gee declares. “But it’s up to you to separate the boys from men.”
Reflecting on BackRoad Gee’s unique talents, Apple Music 1 host Dotty says: “Backroad Gee is a musical anomaly in the perfect sense. His entire style defies convention which makes him one of the most exciting new names in Black music. No matter how many times you hear his voice coming through your speakers, it still stops you in your tracks and demands your attention as though you’re listening to him for the first time.”
Backroad Gee says: “With the The Agenda Live video and ‘Fear Nuttin’ coming out, I’m just gassed because that song means a lot to me you know… it comes from a deep place. So, I just appreciate everyone that was working on it with me, my team, Apple Music, everybody.”
Just 23-years-old, BackRoad Gee dropped his breakout hit ‘Party Popper’ last year, before going on to release his EP ‘Mukta vs. Mukta’ to a feverish reception. Counting the likes of Burna Boy and JME not just as fans but also as collaborators, BackRoad Gee has already worked with an impressive roll-call of acts, including Stefflon Don, D Double E, Ghetts, Lethal B, Naira Marley and Pa Salieu.
The Agenda Live is a partner video series to The Agenda — a flagship Apple Music playlist representing the authentic voices of the UK and beyond, spanning hip-hop, grime, R&B, Afrobeats and everything in between.
Tune in to The Agenda Radio on Apple Music 1 at 2pm BST to hear Dotty’s interview with BackRoad Gee, as he discusses making the new video, his forthcoming mixtape and more.
