The Cinematic Orchestra will make their debut appearance at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on Friday 11 December for a one-off performance featuring exclusive new music.
The event will be The Cinematic Orchestra’s first public appearance of 2020 since performing at the O2 Academy Brixton in February.
The performance will be streamed globally through DICE as part of the Southbank Centre’s ongoing Inside Out online season, featuring over 40 music, literature and comedy events and running until 30 December. Tickets will be on general release on 11 November.
Bengi Ünsal, Head of Contemporary Music, the Southbank Centre, said:
“We’re incredibly excited to be able to connect this globally loved British band to audiences all around the world, and bring their new music into everyone’s homes for this very special one-off event from the Royal Festival Hall.”
The Cinematic Orchestra headed by Jason Swinscoe and Dominic Smith are one of the UK’s most respected and influential bands. From their groundbreaking debut album Motion (1999) to last years’ critically acclaimed album To believe, featuring Moses Sumney and Roots Manuva, they have enjoyed critical and commercial success on a global level. The band have toured the world over and played in some of the most celebrated venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House and The Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. This will be their first time playing the Royal Festival Hall and the first show of any kind since their sell out performance at Brixton Academy in February 2020.
