Cutting up soul samples and sending piano keys skittering, ‘Home’ is another two minute shot from the left from the Cut Beetlez, caught in a softer hip-hop cradle compared to previous singles ‘Cut Ya Ass Up’ and ‘Graveyard Gravitas’. That said, the Nice Guys still manage to keep their balance and land stinging welts as they scramble over the track kissing the moonlight.
Plus it’s the only track this year realising the threat of “throwing Shepherd’s Pie at a shepherd’s eye”.
Cut Beetlez duo HP Lovescratch and DJ J‑Man dropped the praiseworthy ‘Droppin’ Needles’ alongside Soundsci in 2017, and whose relaying of ‘Bad News’ with NYC’s Good People last year was applauded by DJ Magazine and BBC 6 Music’s Nemone. Nice Guys pair Dirty Winters and Lynx 196.9 came together with the Beetlez on the festive fresh ‘Party of the Year’/Namusia’ on the two-track ‘CBNGXMAS’, now joining forces to administer B‑Boy corporal punishment ahead of the full-length ‘CBNG’ album, out on May 1st.
