NEW MUSIC | ARTCHA GETS READY FOR THE RELEASE OF ‘URBAN TALES VOLUME 2’ (@Artcha)

UTV:2 is a hard hit­ting album unrav­el­ling the labyrinth of rela­tion­ships in the city, and the com­plex­it­ies that emerge in the wider con­text of polit­ics, cul­tures and hier­arch­ies that shape our choices and real­it­ies. On tracks like Stella (fea­tur­ing LA Gray) and Des­tiny, Art­cha explores the potency of sexu­al attrac­tions and the dif­fer­ent per­spect­ives that men and women approach their inter­ac­tions from. Circles (fea­tur­ing Tendai) is an hon­est and bru­tal account of the games played, and of false rep­res­ent­a­tions made in pur­suit of sexu­al sat­is­fac­tion. In sum, the album is a mature and bru­tal tale of the exper­i­ence of adult rela­tion­ships – and forms the second chapter in a tri­logy of concept albums that expresses our shared stor­ies of growth.

Art­cha is an Artist/Producer hail­ing from Tot­ten­ham in North Lon­don. Heav­ily influ­enced by his upbring­ing with his moth­er of Jamaic­an des­cent, as a young child he developed a fas­cin­a­tion with art, lit­er­at­ure and music. His earli­est exper­i­ments in music pro­duc­tion fea­tured a second-hand Atari ST and Yamaha key­board, tucked away in his bedroom.

Art­cha is a vet­er­an of the UK hip hop scene. Grow­ing up in elev­en-man group The One Crew with artists like ‘Tha 4orce’ and ‘Sway’, his music takes inspir­a­tion from gar­age, grime, hip hop and bey­ond. Both as a solo artist and as a mem­ber of hip hop super group FRSHRZ (MCs Art­cha, Skandouz & Dray Styles), Art­cha writes and pro­duces music that tackles con­tem­por­ary issues, weaves stor­ies and chal­lenges audi­ences to think deeply.

UTV2 will be released on 28 June 2019 on Club FRSHRZ and Believe Music and will be avail­able on all stream­ing services.
