Poetry: ‘Reasons’ By Hermione Cameron (@HermioneCamer1)

Reasons

Sometimes I think people have reasons, and sometimes reasons not

I myself, a reasoner, hid under the misconception

That everyone did their thing for a reason

But then they said reasons like raisons

Dried up

We’ve been through the season of reason

And reason is so last season

Its all about moments

With their smack in the face embrace

And facebook over books

He took a swing with his YOLO

Ended up in a hashtag cell

Chained forever in CAPS LOCKS

And omygosh

Would you sell your soul for a status update

Upgrade yourself?

Or have you had enough of the screen scene?

What you’ve seen makes you

(caps locks) SCREAM

For no reason

But for every reason in the world

Left dangling on web trail

We never run from the spider

That lures us

Into the World Wide Web

Come let’s see the sites he says

This world he weaves

Words we read

Emoticons over emotion

Makes you want to

(caps locks) WEEP

Controlled, Altered & Deleted

But let it go

Like the rest of them

The growing space bars us

From each other

The following two tabs change content below.
