Release Date: 14th August

‘Rags 2 Riches’ is the debut single to come from rapper Lay B. Telling the story of how he overcame adversity, ‘Rags 2 Riches’ was inspired by Lay B’s personal story. Putting himself out there with his lyrics, Lay B fits his words cohesively with the beat and vibe of the track, showing his skill and dexterity. Raw and upbeat, ‘Rags 2 Riches’ was made possible with the support of Lay B’s new label Global Status who pushed him to deliver the highest standard of work and highlight his assertive and hypnotic flow.
Straight out of the Streets of Long Branch, Lay B is a Hip-Hop & Trap rapper/singer-songwriter. His southern-based sound and Influential rhymes are often compared to Moneybagg Yo and Tee Grizzly. Citing Tupac, Biggie Smalls and Lil Wayne as his key influences, he has also found inspiration from modern artists such as Lil Baby, Drake and NBA Young Boy. He attributes his love of music to his dad, stealing his tapes as a child and using them to record. Deeply personal and authentic, his sound takes from classic hip hop and gives it a new and modern identity. ‘Rags 2 Riches’ marks the start of a new chapter for Lay B, who has been featured in Hot New HipHop, Up and coming 100, This is 50, and has an interview coming up with DJ small eyes.
