“Walk It” is a testament to IZ’s love for hip hop and street dance films, seamlessly fitting into that cinematic world. The track is a feel-good hip-hop anthem with an infectious beat and lyrics primed to spark a new dance craze. With each release, IZ continues to prove his knack for creating captivating bangers that showcase his slick bars and unique style. His ability to blend nostalgia with contemporary flair marks him as a standout talent in the UK rap scene.
Speaking about the single, IZ shared, “Walk It was created to bring back that old-school hip hop vibe. I wanted a hook that inspires people to dance, whether they’re walking down the street, heading to work, or just chilling at home. This track is all about making people move, bop, and walk it out to the rhythm.”
Earlier this year, IZ dropped the single “Big Dreams,” which has racked up over 2.5 million streams on Spotify alone. The track set the tone for his future work, and now, “Walk It” continues to build momentum as we anticipate his debut mixtape. A Step Up will feature 10 tracks that showcase IZ’s signature flow and affinity for old-school hip hop beats, solidifying his place as a new force in UK rap.
Hailing from the outskirts of London, IZ, a member of the CG Collective (Constant Grind), started his musical journey in school, honing his craft over instrumentals and beats while mastering recording techniques. Since 2015, he’s been steadily building his catalog on SoundCloud and YouTube.
His track “Big Dreams” revolves around the relentless pursuit of goals despite adversity. The song sparked a viral dance trend on TikTok, initiated by UK creator @KN and later amplified by BTS’s Jungkook, whose rendition has amassed over 47 million views on his TikTok. The trend continues to gain traction, with over 150 million views on the platform.
As he prepares to drop A Step Up, IZ is undoubtedly an artist to watch, combining fresh energy with a deep respect for hip hop’s roots.
