NEW MUSIC | IN’OVATIVE ‘ENERGY IMPULSE’

INOVATIVE

In’ovative by name and innovative by nature, the UK MC fuels the hype around his name on seductive new track ‘Energy Impulse’.

A man born to rap, the Kent-based MC gets lifted over a hypnotic beat on the new single from this year’s huge album Colour of the Sky, and his organic flow sits naturally over booming kicks and a mesmerising organ riff that sucks you through the looking glass.

Always rocking prime instrumentation, In’ovative’s music is known for straddling genres, ever since he first jumped on the mic in 2010 to immerse himself in dub, grime, hip-hop and spoken word.

The self-made boss of ZenSay Records has done the hard yards on the UK hip-hop scene, cutting his teeth over the last decade crafting his own tracks, penning his own lyrics and even making his own videos.

His distinctive wordplay came crashing to the fore when he founded ZenSay in 2016, where debut full-length Colour of the Sky follows a handful of In’ovative EPs as well as records from Chie and Blunt Vocab. Since then he racked up over 75k Spotify streams last year and hit 80k views on the visual for ‘Repent’.On top of his mad scientist approach to his own tracks In’ovative has performed across the midlands and the south of the country, as well as running workshops, charity fundraisers and festivals – this is a man dedicated to the scene and all that comes with it.
