Writ­ten in solid­ar­ity with the Black Lives Mat­ter move­ment, ‘George Floyd’ is the latest single to come from AkaM­icLarry. Telling the story of the tra­gic murder of George Floyd which sparked glob­al Anti-Racist protests, ‘George Floyd’ sheds light on some of the racial injustices that are still exper­i­enced today, some of them relat­ing to AkaM­icLarry’s own exper­i­ences. The accom­pa­ny­ing video provides thought pro­vok­ing visu­als, shar­ing the spot­light with fel­low pro­test­ers.
 
Ori­gin­ally from Cali in Colom­bia, AkaM­icLarry emig­rated to Lon­don with his fam­ily as a res­ult of his father­’s polit­ic­al act­iv­ism. ‘George Floyd’ is the first single from AkaMicLarry’s upcom­ing album, ‘Black Lives Mat­ter’, in which he tackles the issue of racism and police bru­tal­ity.
