Com­bin­ing a true love for all things Funk & Soul, this spe­cial Week­ender returns for 2019 at a brand new home on Brighton Beach.

With its roots firmly placed in Big Brass sounds, Hip hop beats, Future Soul, Trop­ic­al, Afro-beat, World, Disco, House, and everything in-between, this is set to be the per­fect week­end, blend­ing good times with unmiss­able tal­ent across 3 days.

Fol­low­ing two sold out years, The Sound­crash Funk & Soul Week­ender 2019 marks the begin­ning of the festival’s expan­sion, mov­ing to a brand new loc­a­tion on the icon­ic Brighton Beach, UK.

The fest­iv­al makes its first line up announce­ment today includ­ing Kamasi Wash­ing­ton, dubbed ‘he fig­ure­head of the jazz reviv­al’ by the Guard­i­an, elec­tron­ic duo Mari­bou State (DJ Set), the clas­sic sounds of Alice Rus­sell, and Lee Fields & The Expres­sions, along with the genre-defin­ing tal­ents of Nor­man Jay MBE, and Gilles Peterson. Add to this a cur­ated blend of fresh acts with Yazmin Lacey and Romare plus out­stand­ing tal­ents Hack­ney Col­li­ery Band and The Phar­cyde.

With many more acts yet to be announced, the full line up will boast a range of artists span­ning the full spec­trum of the funk and soul genres, appeal­ing to both ded­ic­ated fans and curi­ous new­comers.

In addi­tion to the music­al line up, the fest­iv­al offers an extens­ive, jam-packed timetable of extra activ­it­ies includ­ing record fairs, film screen­ings and explor­at­ive talks; as well aswell­ness & soul med­it­a­tion, dance classes and the ori­gin­al disco yoga exper­i­ence.  All this can be found along­side secret parties, cab­aret, and the best in soul food and craft beer.

This event on the fest­iv­al cal­en­dar is an intim­ate affair, cre­ated for an audi­ence that truly loves its music.
