Redman is an award-winning hugely acclaimed rap legend, who is regarded as one of the most dynamic, creative, and flat-out entertaining MCs of his era. He has not played live in the UK for over a decade, so these dates will be unmissable with the rap god set to wow his British fans.
Newark, New Jersey veteran Redman, born Reggie Noble, is a rapper, DJ, producer and actor, who recently returned to releasing music after a decade long hiatus, to drop his 9th full-length studio album ‘Muddy Waters Too’, released last Christmas. ‘Muddy Waters Too’ is the sequel to his classic 1996 album, which was a staple of 90s hip hop. The new album has been critically acclaimed as a lengthy, feature-rich project that delivers a dose of Redman’s signature style, a nostalgic listen laden with sharp lyricism and the return of the much-loved Reggie Noble humour, familiar characters and skits.
Redman was an original member of EPMD’s Hit Squad, which later became Def Squad, with members Erick Sermon, Keith Murray, Hurricane G and Jamal. Redman signed to Def Jam Recordings and saw huge success during the 90s & 2000s as a solo artist, with his first three albums ‘Whut¿: Thee Album’ (1992), ‘Dare iz a Darkside’ (1994) and ‘Muddy Waters’ (1996) cementing his icon status. Redman later formed a duo with Method Man of the Wu Tang Clan, with their debut collaborative album ‘Blackout’ released in 1999 and the sequel ‘Blackout 2’ released in 2009. Redman went on to release fourth and fifth platinum albums ‘Doc’s Da Name 2000’ (1998) and ‘Malpractice’ (2001). There have been various mixtapes, movies like ‘How High’ with Method Man, collaborations with Tupac, Mary J Blige, Christina Aguilera, Pink and The Offspring and numerous TV appearances, alongside the release of sixth, seventh and eighth albums ‘Red Gone Wild: Thee Album’ (2007), ‘Reggie’ (2010) and ‘Mudface’ (2015).
