NEW MUSIC | RAP SUPERSTAR DABABY RELEASES SHORT FILM FOR NEW SINGLE, “FIND MY WAY”

Hip hop’s new­est star, DaBaby (South Coast Music Group/Interscope Records) presents his first solo offer­ing of 2020 with the release of his new­est single, “Find My Way.” The single show­cases DaBaby’s ver­sat­il­ity as the artist reveals a new flow and raw melod­ic hook across the DJ Kid-pro­duced beat. Accom­pa­ny­ing the song is a 10-minute short, dir­ec­ted by Reel Goats. Star­ring both DaBaby and influ­en­cer, BSi­mone, the visu­al fol­lows the pair as they attempt to secure fin­ances for the rapper’s ail­ing grand­moth­er, by any means neces­sary. After pos­ing the omin­ous ques­tion, “Have you ever seen some­body turn into a mon­ster for a good cause?” the film then briefly trans­itions to music video form. The sus­pense­ful short show­cases DaBaby’s act­ing skills and teases a sequel for fans who will inev­it­ably be left want­ing more.

The Char­lotte, NC rap­per first received recog­ni­tion when the 2015 release of his debut mix­tape Non­Fic­tion amassed over 10,000 streams in 48 hours. He con­tin­ued to serve fans with inde­pend­ent pro­jects before being pro­pelled to mass recog­ni­tion last year. His debut pro­ject, Baby on Baby, spent 55 weeks on Billboard’s Top 100; peak­ing at #7. The effort spawned the double-plat­in­um single, “Suge.” His first offi­cial album, KIRK, kicked things up a notch, deb­ut­ing at #1 on the Bill­board 200 before launch­ing a duly-titled North Amer­ic­an tour fea­tur­ing Stunna 4 Vegas. The album included the smash hit “BOP” which has over 204 MM views on You­Tube; mak­ing it DaBaby’s biggest video thus far and his third #1 on Urb­an Radio. The rap­per, who had the most Bill­board Hot 100 entries in 2019 with 22 songs, has been recog­nized heav­ily with­in the industry as well. Last year, DaBaby was included on Dreamville’s Grammy-nom­in­ated album, Revenge of the Dream­ers III. He scored the cov­er of Bill­board and was named as part of the 2019 XXL Fresh­man Class. DaBaby con­tin­ues to take the music world by storm through both his sheer tal­ent and busi­ness savvy, as he serves as CEO of his own label, Bil­lion Dol­lar Baby Ent. To date, DaBaby has exceeded 6.4 bil­lion glob­al streams since sign­ing with Inter­scope Records.
