NEW MUSIC | MCSOLOMON AND DERAJAH ‘KINGSTON TO LONDON’

In a powerful meeting of musical minds, Jamaican reggae vocalist Derajah and UK hip-hop MC MCSolomon unite on a bold new collaboration titled “Kingston to London.”  Released on June 27, 2025, via Kamani Records, the track represents a dynamic fusion of roots reggae and gritty hip-hop, produced by genre-blending specialists The Busy Twist. Accompanied by a visually arresting music video from Anthony Bailey Media, the single is more than just a sound…it’s a statement.

“Kingston to London” builds a cultural bridge between the Caribbean and the UK, weaving together dub-influenced textures, boom bap rhythms, and Afro-Caribbean pulses. The result is a sound that honors its foundations while pushing boldly into the future.

Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Derajah brings decades of deep-rooted reggae authenticity to the project. A protégé of the legendary Sugar Minott and Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith, his music is known for its soulful vocal delivery and socially conscious messages. From his internationally acclaimed album Paris Is Burning to heartfelt singles like “Mama” and “Hit Me,” Derajah continues to uplift and inspire audiences around the world.

On the mic alongside him is MCSolomon, a cornerstone of Brixton’s vibrant underground scene. With over 20 years of experience and collaborations with influential acts like Congo Natty, Dead Prez, General Levy, Akala, and Lowkey, MCSolomon brings sharp lyricism and an activist edge. His performances — from Glastonbury to Goa Reggae Sunsplash—reflect a commitment to both artistry and community.

Behind the boards, production duo The Busy Twist inject their trademark blend of Afrobeat, Latin, reggae, and modern bass, crafting a sound that hits hard in dancehalls and headphones alike.

The accompanying music video, filmed between Kingston and London is a striking visual narrative of unity, resilience, and cross-cultural dialogue. It captures the shared spirit and rhythm of two cities bound together through music.

“This collaboration is not just a tune—it’s a message,” says Derajah. “A message of unity, power, and I connection.”
