NEW MUSIC | JQY P RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE ‘ONLY LOVE’

Born in West Bromwich & raised in rural North Devon, Jay has developed an intense , lyrically deep style of emo rap with an emotional intelligence that belies his tender years.

Releasing his debut single ‘Only Love’ in April 2021 at the age of 16, Jay is showing a depth of understanding for self reflection within his music that carries an eeriness & gravity that performed in his breathless style leaves your head spinning.

In his own words he states,

The song “Only Love” written and performed by myself. Writing began as a therapeutic strategy. I often find myself confused and overwhelmed within my headspace, but struggle to express these feelings due to a fear of vulnerability.
However by writing and channelling my feelings and emotions into something creative, such as music, I enable people to understand me and my thought process a bit better.

This ultimately allows me to feel a lot better because I’ve lifted a huge weight off of myself, and those around me feel privileged to finally learn to understand my thoughts and feelings.

I chose to distribute my song publicly to spread the message of “it’s okay not to be okay” By creating a lyrics that reflect myself yet can relate to other people on a personal level, I believe I am achieving my goal by being real, humble and creative.
