NEW MUSIC | HENDRIX HARRIS “CALIENTE EN EL FRIO” FT. CIMAFUNK & BARBARO ‘EL URBANO’ VARGAS

‘Caliente En El Frio’ see’s fast rising talent Hendrix Harris link up with two of Cuba’s most exciting and boundary pushing artists. Following on from the release of his debut EP “Falcon” earlier this year, Hendrix enlists Cuban superstar Cimafunk, who Billboard described as “Cuba’s 2018 revelation of the year”, alongside rising Latin rapper Barbaro ‘El Urbano’ Vargas.

Combining the influences of all three artists, the new single leans on bold trap elements, lifted with a soulful edge. Harris’ distinctly rich vocals meeting Barbaro’s raw grit and Cimafunk’s blended flavour tying it all together; each artist drops gems, speaking to vivid realities and a unique Caribbean identity in their very own way. Linking up in La Habana for the new video, as they tread the streets and show love to the locals of Marianao, “Caliente En El Frio” is a celebration of all things real in Cuba and the beauty that lies within it.

Having spent time there himself and having expressed an appreciation for Cuban music and culture with previous singles, Hendrix co-signs the culture on this track with the help of two of Cuba’s finest artists.

Acclaimed by the likes of Rolling Stone, Billboard and The New York Times, free-form, multi-disciplinary artist Cimafunk has set both the Latin and wider world alight with his powerful mix of funk filled Cuban music and African rhythms — which is currently revolutionizing the island’s music scene.

Forerunner of the ‘La Cueva’ rap collective, Barbaro ‘El Urbano’ Vargas has brought life into the Latin conscious rap scene, with his punchy flow and sharp lyrics garnering hundreds of thousands of YouTube views with every new drop, including “Lumbre Bajo Cero” (over 730k views) and “Urbanos / Güan” (over 500k views).

Hendrix Harris has repeatedly proven that he is an innovative and eclectic soul that defies boundaries, and he’s now letting loose with a new offering between three acts that speaks to collaboration beyond borders. Carving out a compelling trajectory, Harris continues to lay the necessary foundations for a truly game changing 2020.
