‘Sur­viv­ing’ is the latest single to come from young East Lon­don rap­per SmoothVee who uses this track to talk about the adversit­ies he has faced in the past two years. ‘Sur­viv­ing’ is the final product of vari­ous ver­sions of the track, and once the beat was final­ised, the lyr­ics and melody flowed freely. 
 
Influ­enced by grime from a young age, SmoothVee star­ted rap­ping as a child. Fus­ing rap and Hip Hop with dance­hall, R&B and soul music, his music is heav­ily influ­enced by his music­al upbring­ing and sur­round­ings. Being around the pion­eers of grime from a young age, SmoothVee’s music­al aspir­a­tions were enhanced by their suc­cess, as he cre­ates music that’s rep­res­ent­at­ive of his real­ity.
