Written in response to South Africa winning the 2020 Rugby World Cup, Swerve 2.0 is a collaboration between Blaq Carrie, Thabo and producer Iced Out Shyne. Blaq Carrie had been working with the beat for a while, and in a short three hour studio session they were able to finish the track.
Born in Zimbabwe but now based in Brisbane, Blaq Carrie’s energy for music comes after rejection from drama school. Taking that negativity and driving it into her music, Blaq Carrie has had award winning singles (Queensland Music Awards, Australian Independent Award, Australian Independent Music Video Award 2013). Also named as one of the 10 Buzzy Talents (The Guardian, 2013) Blaq Carrie released ‘Lemme Ride’ in 2016 which got heavy radio play on Triple J Radio.
‘Swerve 2.0’ will be available on all major platforms on the 3rd April.
