Inspired by a perceived lack of originality in the hip hop scene, ‘Rap Addict’ is the latest single to come from Arkansas rapper A.R.K Jay. His rapid flow exerts control over the beat as A.R.K Jay stakes his claim as a true and original spitter. Authentic and real, ‘Rap Addict’ displays high lyrical quality that throws it back to where hip hop started with references to a retro sound.
Hugely influenced by the New York sound, A.R.K Jay has been rapping for years. Drawn into the hip hop scene as a kid, he quickly fell in love with it’s creativity and lyricism, developing a skill for word play in his lyrics. Citing Kendrick Lamar, Tupac and Nas as his influences, A.R.K Jay fuses retro references with a fresh modern sound and originality.
