Inspired by a per­ceived lack of ori­gin­al­ity in the hip hop scene, ‘Rap Addict’ is the latest single to come from Arkan­sas rap­per A.R.K Jay. His rap­id flow exerts con­trol over the beat as A.R.K Jay stakes his claim as a true and ori­gin­al spit­ter. Authen­t­ic and real, ‘Rap Addict’ dis­plays high lyr­ic­al qual­ity that throws it back to where hip hop star­ted with ref­er­ences to a retro sound.
Hugely influ­enced by the New York sound, A.R.K Jay has been rap­ping for years. Drawn into the hip hop scene as a kid, he quickly fell in love with it’s cre­ativ­ity and lyr­i­cism, devel­op­ing a skill for word play in his lyr­ics. Cit­ing Kendrick Lamar, Tupac and Nas as his influ­ences, A.R.K Jay fuses retro ref­er­ences with a fresh mod­ern sound and ori­gin­al­ity.
