The masked rapper remains a mystery until now. Want to know who Yaaru is?
‘Kelvi Kuri’ tells the story of the UK drill/grime rapper’s life from 10 months old until today. Bringing a new flavour to these genres, Yaaru raps in Tamil, one of the oldest spoken languages in the world predominantly used in India, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka! With a worldwide audience already, there is serious hype ahead of this release. Working with producers, KatManDu Sounds, Ishmatic Beats and Malice, Yaaru presents us with greatness in this 7 track EP. A fully qualified scientist with a career in science, Yaaru takes us through his experiences of growing up in London as a Tamil with absolute precision. The opening skit explores a near death experience from childhood before leading us through the carefully crafted EP. For fans of the Tamil rap culture and artists like Bugzy Malone and Meek Mill, ‘Kelvi Kuri’ is a whirlwind of skits and heavy beats, something fresh for your playlists!
‘I aim to reach for the stars, as the sky is not high enough’ — Yaaru
Becoming a pioneer of the Tamil Drill genre around the world, Yaaru is already gaining recognition for putting out this crazy fusion music! We love to hear it! Putting Tamil on the map with his exciting fusion of UK drill and Tamil, he has already had hits with previous three singles ‘Enda peru Yaaru’ ‚‘Thaniya’ and ‘Manthiravaathi’, all of which worked to solidify the Yaaru brand. Having received compliments on his music from Stylo G, it is an exciting time for Yaaru to release his brand new EP, ‘Kelvi Kuri’ Proving that you don’t need to understand the language to get with the vibe and love the music. Yaaru in Tamil means ‘who is that’, and we are certain that the world is about to find out.
