Russian-Italian hip-hop artist FKA 059 had teamed up with producer Marcus Basquiat for his brand new EP, ‘21′. It serves as a follow-up for ‘Lucky Strike’, a collaborative project with Doc. Gold Grill and Nimen.

The content of ‘21’ was drawn from some of his darkest times. For FKA, this project expresses ‘my pain, all the frustration that I had deep inside me, and what it feels like to feel hatred towards you’. Drawing inspiration from the like of Yung Lean and Bladee, the EP pairs Basquiat’s eerie beats with FKA’s brutally honest lyricism. He raps and sings completely in Italian, having moved to Italy from Russia as a child.

FKA 059 is no stranger to the online hip-hop community. Starting from the age of 18, he operated under the alias ‘o k h o’ as a lofi beat producer, dropping over 30 projects along the way. He has since received over 38 million streams on Spotify alone, having been featured in their ‘Lofi Hip Hop’ playlist. He now moves on as FKA 059, shifting his focus from beat making to rapping and singing.

‘21’ is out now on Spotify, Soundcloud and more.
